Vaitheeswaran Koil Temple located in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu state is one of the famous temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. In this temple, Lord Shiva is worshiped as the “God of Medicine”, and it is believed that by coming to this temple and seeing Shiva, diseases are cured, as well as the defects related to Mars are also removed.
There is a grand pond in the temple premises named Siddhamirtham and people believe that bathing in this pond cures diseases. There are many devotees who take this water to their homes to use the water of the pond as medicine. Hundreds of devotees come here every day to visit, worship and aarti of Lord Shiva.
