Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a famous Hindu temple located on the banks of the Hooghly River in the city of Dakshineshwar, Kolkata. Inside the temple is a statue of Maa Kali standing on the chest of the reclining Lord Shiva. The temple was built in 1855 by the Queen of Bengal Rashmoni. Along with the temple of Maa Kali, there are 12 temples of Shiva and a temple of Krishna.
